After a long wait, the permit for the transformation or change of the form of the university into the Hayam Wuruk Perbanas University was determined. This is based on the Decree of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemdikbud) of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 126/E/O/2021 dated April 9, 2021 concerning Permits to Change the Form of the Perbanas School of Economics in Surabaya City to Hayam Wuruk Perbanas University in Surabaya City, East Java Province. organized by the Education Foundation of the National Private Banks Association of East Java.

Right on Friday, May 21, 2021, at Building A, Hayam Wuruk Perbanas University, Wonorejo Campus, Head of the Region VII Higher Education Service Institute (LL Dikti) East Java, Prof. Dr. Suprapto, DEA., submitted the decree to the Chairman of the Education Foundation of the National Private Banks Association of East Java, Herman Halim accompanied by Dr. Yudi Sutarso, S.E., M.Sc., as Chancellor of the University of Hayam Wuruk Perbanas.

The Chancellor of the University of Hayam Wuruk Perbanas, Dr. Yudi Sutarso, S.E., M.Sc., said that the change in the shape of the university is intended to expand the capacity and contribution of campuses in society. Then, the university chose the name of the figure of the Majapahit Kingdom during the heyday of King Hayam Wuruk with the unification of the archipelago. In fact, the name also has its own meaning for the university.

"Hayam Wuruk is the spiritual father. We chose Hayam Wuruk because there is a spirit. The first spirit is the spirit of glory. We want to emulate Hayam Wuruk's glory when Majapahit was victorious when it was led by Hayam Wuruk," he said.

Next, is the Indonesian spirit. Yudi Sutarso emphasized that Hayam Wuruk was a native Indonesian figure. Despite having a global vision, Indonesia remains at its root, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia is fixed, and Pancasila is the basic value of this university.

The third spirit, when Hayam Wuruk led the Majapahit Kingdom, Bhineka Tunggal Ika was born. "That is, this university is also based on the principle of diversity, respecting differences is also a spirit," he added.

With this agreement, this business campus has two faculties. First, the Faculty of Economics and Business, consisting of: S1 Accounting, S1 Management, S1 Sharia Economics, D3 Accounting, D3 Banking and Finance, and S2 Masters in Management. Second, the Faculty of Engineering and Design which houses three new study programs, namely: S1 Informatics Engineering, S1 Information Systems, and S1 Visual Communication Design (DKV). (eco/hms)
