Perbanas Surabaya held a Stand Up Comedy competition in one of a series of activities for the 51st Anniversary of STIE Perbanas Surabaya through the online media Zoom. (25/01/2021)

The Stand Up Comedy competition started at 09.00 WIB featuring participants from STIE Perbanas Surabaya students. This competition was attended by students, staff and lecturers. The theme of the Stand Up Comedy competition is "New Normal, New Campus, New Face", all of which must be included in the stand up material presented.

The technicality for the implementation of the Stand Up Comedy competition is that the participants issue funny jokes for 3 to 5 minutes, then the jury will respond to them for 3 minutes. The jury of the Stand Up Comedy competition is a lecturer from STIE Perbanas Surabaya itself. The three juries are Mr. Romi Ilham, Mr. Reza Tianto and Mrs. Faizatul Hikmah.

Bu Dian Oktarina as the chief executive of the stand up comedy competition said the participants who took part in the stand-up were mostly students and lecturers.

"The participants who took part in the stand-up competition were 15 participants, with details of 12 students and 3 lecturers," he said.

When asked about why he chose to hold a stand-up comedy competition, he explained that this activity was to provide entertainment for the civitas in celebrating the 51st Anniversary event. So all this time we have only focused on activities that are very serious in nature in the form of the Tridarma of higher education such as teaching, research and community service. Now in this anniversary event, there were several entertainment competitions which we can hold online and still be lively in welcoming the 51st Anniversary.

Bu Dian Oktarina also hopes that with this stand-up comedy competition, students can express their creativity and hidden talents, besides that during the current pandemic, laughter is very important to maintain our immune and immune system.

"Hopefully there will be more new talents that will emerge from this stand up comedy competition, both from the student environment and from the lecturers of Perbanas Surabaya," he concluded. (yudha / hms)
