A fresh graduate or recent graduate usually does not have much experience. This is because they are not active in updating the latest information related to developments in policies, knowledge, and technology. This also has an impact on the minimal absorption of graduates being accepted by the world of work due to lack of knowledge and skills.

Responding to this situation, the Master of Management and Bachelor of Management Study Programs at STIE Perbanas Surabaya collaborated to improve student competence. This is done by holding a Public Lecture and a Guest Lecture which brings in competent and experienced educational practitioners.

On Saturday, October 6 2018, hundreds of students majoring in Management at STIE Perbanas Surabaya, both undergraduate (S1) and Postgraduate (S2), took part in the Risk Management Public Lecture with the theme "ISO 31000 Risk Management for Corporations". Located at the Auditorium Campus 1 Jl. Nginden Semolo 34-36 Surabaya, this activity is prioritized for students who take the Banking Management concentration.
On this occasion, the speaker who was presented was a Head of ISO Consulting Service PT. Patra Badak Arun Solusi, namely Mr. Atantya H. Mulyanto, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D. Apart from that, also attended by the Deputy Head of Academic Affairs, Dr. Drs. Emanuel Kristijadi, M.M., Head of the Bachelor of Management Study Program, Dr. Muazaroh, S.E., M.T., Secretary of the Master of Management Study Program, Dr. Basuki Rachmat, S.E., M.M., and a number of lecturers who teach risk management courses at STIE Perbanas Surabaya.

 It is known, ISO 31000: 2018 was recently published by the International Standards Organization in February 2018, then. The existence of ISO 31000: 2018 replaces ISO 31000: 2009 Risk Management. Initially, ISO 31000: 2009 relates to the Principles and Guidelines, now ISO 31000: 2018 deals with these guidelines only. The purpose of ISO 31000: 2018 risk management is emphasized on two things, namely creating and protecting value. The manifestations of these goals include: (a) improving performance, (b) encouraging innovation, and (3) supporting the achievement of goals.
In this material, students participating in public lectures are expected to be able to understand the importance of ISO 31000 Risk Management which can be applied to corporations. In other words, when they graduate, students will already get an understanding of ISO 31000: 2018 from the speaker's presentation. (Andy.r)
