Lila Setia 1st Winner in Batik Motif Design Competition
The library of STIE Perbanas Surabaya never gets tired of innovating. This was manifested in various interesting activities, such as the Batik Motif Design Competition which was held starting last August.
Librarian STIE Perbanas Surabaya, Dio Eka Prayitno, S.Sos., Explained that the Batik Motif Design Contest was intended for the general public, including: students, employees, and lecturers. The competition is also a realization of the form of cooperation with external parties.
This time, the Library of STIE Perbanas Surabaya collaborated with entrepreneurs from local campus alumni. The line of business in question is Al Warits Batik Aroma Therapy, where the owner is named Warisatul Hasanah. Currently, the boutique is located on Jl. Raya Burneh No.99, Mortorang, Burneh, Burneh District, Bangkalan Regency, East Java.
Dio added, starting from this collaboration, the library held a batik design competition with the aim of inspiring and transmitting the entrepreneurial spirit to the participants. In addition, this competition is a form of preserving Indonesia's wealth so that it does not become extinct and is known in modern circles.
Winner of Batik Motif Design Competition, Lila Setia Dewik admitted that she is very grateful for being able to win. "What is certain is that I'm happy, thank God," he said.
Lila tells stories that painting and drawing have been her hobbies since a long time ago. Information on this batik design competition was obtained from the group in the class. Then, he tried to make a design. "Yes, at first I was a bit pessimistic about winning, but what's wrong with trying," he said.
He continued, the batik motifs made by Lila raised a combination of Ornamental Birds, Parang Motifs, and Semanggi Motifs. According to him, the bird decoration and parang motifs have their own philosophy, while the semanggi motif is one of the typical batik motifs in Surabaya. "So, D-3 (not the day before, -red) I just started to prepare batik designs. So it takes about 3 days for the manufacture, ”explained Lila.
This Bachelor of Sharia Economics student also expressed her gratitude to STIE Perbanas for having held a batik motif design competition. This can bridge students to channel their talents and creativity. "After achieving this I became interested and eager to take part in this kind of competition outside of campus and re-pursue my hobby," he hoped.
It should be noted, the winners of the STIE Perbanas Surabaya Library Batik Motif Design Contest include: 2nd place won by Hadi Amirillah from the Bachelor of Accounting Study Program and 3rd place was received by Galuh Buyung from the Bachelor of Management study program. (ek0 / public relations).
