Increasing literacy can be done through various interesting activities. As has been done by the STIE Perbanas Surabaya Library, which is holding a Drawing Competition for students aged 9-12 years. This activity coincided with the TBM (Community Reading Park) Management Workshop: Digital Literacy in Self Character Creation, Saturday, August 31 2019.

Librarian of STIE Perbanas Surabaya, Dio Eka Prayitno, S.Sos., Explained that this competition was to form the character of students. In fact, they can get to know the library environment from an early age. The previous year, the library of STIE Perbanas Surabaya had also invited students to watch films and videos so as to improve their literacy. In fact, the Community Reading Gardens (TBM) in Sukolilo and Rungkut Districts were also involved in realizing this service program.

"This year, per TBM sent 2 children to take part in the competition. From Sukolilo there were 12 TBMs and Rungkut there were 17 TBMs. So there are 58 children who participated in this competition, "said Dio on the sidelines of the activity.

One of the contestants, Hafid, admitted that he did not feel difficult when he joined a drawing competition with the theme of saving. On that occasion, this student from SD Kedung Baruk Rungkut drew a bank building and two people brought money to be saved. "I like to draw. This is a bank building and people are saving, ”explained Hafid, explaining the picture.

Finally, Hafid also won an award with the title of Third Place. Meanwhile, the first winner was won by Deswita and the second winner was won by Aliya. Then, the first runner up was given to Nisyam; Runner Up II was received by Atan A.Y. and the 3rd runner up was Muawisah Nur. (ek0 / public relations)
