Broadening Managerial Insights, UHW Perbanas Master's Students Visit Multinational Company

Students from the Master of Management Program at Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas recently visited PT Amerta Indah Otsuka in Pasuruan Regency, East Java. A total of 32 students participated in the educational visit as part of their learning process, gaining firsthand experience of management practices implemented by a world-class company.
Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas, Prof. Dr. Dra. Tatik Suryani, Psi., M.M., explained that the company visit was designed to broaden students' perspectives, particularly on best management practices adopted by multinational corporations.
"The vision of the Master of Management Program at UHW Perbanas is to achieve global excellence. Therefore, our students need to understand the management processes implemented in multinational companies," said Prof. Tatik during an interview on Wednesday (August 13).
Following a discussion session with Glenn Leonardo Noya, Head of the Corporate Communication Division, the students were assigned to conduct analyses based on the theories they had learned in class. They were then required to prepare reports and present their findings.
"Some students analyzed the company from the perspective of human resource management, while others focused on marketing, technology, and operations management. They also reflected on the best practices they observed and considered how these could be applied in their future roles as managers," Prof. Tatik added.
She expressed hope that the graduate students would be able to implement the best practices they learned during the visit. "Many of our students are already working as supervisors. Even before completing their master's degree, they can immediately apply what they have learned through the transfer of learning in their respective workplaces," she said.
As part of its commitment to strengthening students' global perspectives, the Master of Management Program at UHW Perbanas has previously organized international company visits to Singapore and Malaysia.
One of the participants, Alfiah Indasah, S.E., a Master of Management student, shared that the experience was highly memorable because the company warmly welcomed the delegation. During the visit, she and her fellow students were introduced to the company's production processes, business operations, quality assurance standards, and business strategies through presentations delivered by the Corporate Communication Division of PT Amerta Indah Otsuka.
"We hope this activity will motivate Master of Management students to continue enhancing their managerial competencies, become more competitive in the workforce, and strengthen collaboration between universities and industry," she concluded.
