The uncertain future requires individuals to develop well-planned strategies. This begins with making well-informed decisions based on data, experience, and the right timing according to current needs and circumstances. This was conveyed by Dr. Wildan Sanjoyo, S.E., M.M., Senior Executive Vice President (SE-VP) of Bank Mandiri, during a public lecture titled Strategies for Navigating an Era of Uncertainty held on Saturday (November 29).
According to him, making decisions is never easy because every decision comes with risks. He expressed his deep respect for those who have the courage to make decisions, while emphasizing that he has little regard for those who choose not to decide.
"I stand before you today not only as a practitioner but also as your senior. Whatever your role may be, always make decisions," said the 1999 graduate of the Management Study Program at Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas.
Wildan also expressed his admiration for Generation Z, noting that they possess unique advantages in facing today's challenges compared to previous generations. However, in this era of uncertainty, he believes that the greatest challenge for Gen Z is the constant need to adapt and embrace rapid change.
"You can no longer rely on the same approaches that previous generations used to solve similar problems. Never limit yourself to just one way of doing things. Broaden your references and stay focused. This era of uncertainty is very real, and it is happening right now," he explained.
He further encouraged Gen Z to continue developing themselves in order to navigate future uncertainties successfully.
"Never stop learning. Never rely on just one strategy. Equip yourself with multiple approaches to deal with every challenge you encounter," he advised.
Meanwhile, Dr. Yudi Sutarso, S.E., M.Si., Rector of Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas, emphasized the importance of equipping graduates with relevant skills. He explained that the public lecture was part of the university's commitment to preparing future graduates by providing opportunities to learn directly from accomplished industry practitioners.
"Today's presentation was truly insightful and beneficial not only for our students but also for participants from outside Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas. We were pleased to see many participants actively asking questions and engaging in meaningful discussions," he concluded after the event.
