Yudha Herlambang Cahya Pratama, S.Kom., M.Kom., the Program Implementation Team Leader, stated that the training aimed to strengthen collaboration between higher education and the community through empowerment based on local potential.
“This program is designed not to be one-way, but rather to promote two-way interaction involving case studies, hands-on content creation, market targeting, and platform optimization using Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp Business,” he explained after the training on Sunday (July 13).
Yudha further explained that the series of scheduled activities is part of the 2025 Community Partnership Empowerment Grant Program (PKM) from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. Together with Herwin Ardiyanto, S.Pd., M.M., and Mohammad Al Hafidz, S.Kom., M.Kom., they signed a collaboration agreement with PCM Rungkut Surabaya to work together in research, community service, and community-based entrepreneurship capacity development.
“This collaboration is expected to be the beginning of a long-term synergy that brings real impact to improving the quality of human resources and MSMEs within the Muhammadiyah community,” added Yudha, who is also a digital literacy advocate.
Meanwhile, Slamet Raharjo, S.T., Head of the PCM Rungkut Economic and Entrepreneurship Council, expressed his gratitude to UHW Perbanas for initiating the MSME training program.
“We highly appreciate the contribution from the PKM grant team at Hayam Wuruk Perbanas University. The MSME actors in PCM Rungkut really need digital assistance. We hope this kind of training will continue and even expand to other areas,” he stated.
Upik, an MSME actor from Cookies Rungkut, shared a similar sentiment. She admitted that the material presented was very helpful. “Previously, I only sold through WhatsApp groups and didn’t know how to create attractive promotions. After joining this training, I learned the importance of visual presentation, posting times, and how to reach new customers through Instagram. It really broadened my horizons,” she said.
Moving forward, the implementation team has prepared several follow-up programs, including mentoring, coaching clinics, and the development of a digital marketing module based on the real needs of MSMEs.
Dr. Muazaroh, S.E., M.T., Head of the Research and Community Service Center at UHW Perbanas, emphasized the crucial role of universities in accelerating digital literacy within society, particularly among MSMEs.
“Digital transformation cannot be postponed. We hope this training not only imparts knowledge but also triggers a shift in MSME business behavior to become more adaptive, competitive, and innovative,” she concluded. (hms)
