Enhance Women’s Role to Be Great for an Advanced Indonesia

The role of women in building the Indonesian nation is undeniable. Many remarkable female figures have achieved success on both national and international stages. This spirit inspired the Center for Applied Business and Management (CABM) at Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas to organize a training program for outstanding women in Surabaya. The participants were the wives of civil servants who are members of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of Surabaya.

The Capacity Building Training, themed "Empowered Women, Advanced Indonesia," was officially opened by the Regional Secretary of Surabaya, Dr. Ikhsan, S.Psi., M.M. In his speech, he highlighted the numerous benefits of this training for the members of Dharma Wanita Persatuan. He pointed out that while their husbands, who work as State Civil Apparatus, regularly receive training, the wives often do not have access to similar programs.

“These women do not receive equivalent training and skill development to keep up, which could lead to stagnation or a lack of professional growth. Therefore, today we are collaborating with Dharma Wanita and Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas to upgrade their skills,” he stated during the opening session on Tuesday (February 18).

Similarly, Rector of UHW Perbanas, Dr. Yudi Sutarso, S.E., M.Si., emphasized the importance of women's support in a man's success. “Behind every successful man, there is always a great woman. With the support of strong wives, husbands can excel in their careers and duties,” he explained.

Throughout the event, participants engaged in four training sessions covering various essential topics: Legal Aspect for Women; Team Building for Leadership; Financial Planning for Women; Interpersonal Leadership Communication.

Several distinguished speakers contributed to the training, including Kanit PPA AKP Rima Shanty Dewi, Dr. Yudi Sutarso, S.E., M.Si., Dr. Basuki Rachmat, S.E., M.M., Dr. Linda Purnamasari, S.E., M.Si., Dr. Shinta Setia, S.Psi., M.Com., and Dr. Anggraeni, S.E., M.Si. (eko/pr)
