The UHW Perbanas Student Affairs Unit has formed a team of students who will later deliver soft skills materials, known as SSM mentors. Prior to taking on their mentoring roles, these students receive comprehensive training from university leaders, faculty members, and soft skills practitioners within UHW Perbanas.
On Tuesday, February 11, a total of 24 SSM Mentors and 2 Managing Partners (MPs) commenced the Training of Mentors (TOM) program, held virtually. The event was officially opened by the Rector of UHW Perbanas, Dr. Yudi Sutarso, S.E., M.Si., alongside the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Dra. Lindiawati, M.M., followed by a series of training sessions.
Dr. Yudi Sutarso, S.E., M.Si., emphasized the importance of soft skills training for students from the early stages of their academic journey. In addition to academic intelligence, he highlighted that soft skills play a crucial role in achieving a successful career in the future.

"Generation Z is characterized by an open mindset, high motivation towards various matters, and strong engagement with technology. These traits must be complemented by strong soft skills, such as leadership, communication and negotiation, interpersonal skills and empathy, as well as critical thinking," he explained during the Training of Mentors (TOM) session.
Echoing this sentiment, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Dra. Lindiawati, M.M., emphasized the significant role of soft skills in entering the professional world. She outlined ten key soft skills that UHW Perbanas graduates must master: Strong Work Ethic, Positive Attitude, Good Communication Skills, Time Management Abilities, Problem-Solving Skills, Acting as a Team Player, Self-Confidence, Ability to Accept and Learn From Criticism, Flexibility/Adaptability, and Working Well Under Pressure.

"These key points should also be conveyed to the mentees. As mentors, you can implement them in various mentoring activities and group discussions," she added.
The Training of Mentors for the Super Softskills Mentoring 2025 program is scheduled to take place over two days, from Tuesday to Wednesday, February 11-12, 2025. The training covers a range of essential topics, including Character Building and Its Urgency for National Development, The Importance of Soft Skills in the Professional World, Ice Breaking and Energizer, Self-Regulation: The Key to Successful Professional Mentorship and Self-Management, Mentoring Skills, Social Skills for Successful Mentors, and Mentoring Group Management.
