Workshop on Market Oriented Business Ideation Strategies for Successful Entrepreneurs
Surabaya, November 6, 2024, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Hayam Wuruk Perbanas University successfully organized a workshop entitled “Strategies for Formulating Market-Oriented Business Ideas Towards Successful Entrepreneurs.” The event was attended by 24 entrepreneurship internship students, 2 accompanying lecturers, 2 entrepreneurship lecturers, and 3 PKKM teams. The workshop aimed to improve the quality of students in creating market-oriented business ideas, improve the quality of students in implementing new business ideas to be developed, and increase the number of entrepreneurial students.
The workshop presented Dr. David Sukardi Kodrat, M.M., CLC, CPM, CRME, Lecturer of Master of Management Program of Ciputra University, as the main speaker. Dr. David is known as an expert in the field of entrepreneurship, and has extensive experience in business development and leadership training. His presence provided a new perspective on how to build and develop a successful business by prioritizing market orientation.
In his welcome session, Dr. Lutfi, S.E., M.Fin, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Hayam Wuruk Perbanas University, said that the main objective of this workshop was to provide participants with applicable knowledge in designing business ideas that can withstand market dynamics. “Success in entrepreneurship is not just about innovative ideas, but rather a deep understanding of the market we want to enter. This workshop is expected to provide participants with the skills to develop business ideas that truly meet consumer needs,” said Dr. Lutfi.
Dr. David Sukardi Kodrat provided an in-depth understanding of the strategy of developing market-oriented business ideas. In his presentation, he underlined that a winning business idea must be based on solid market research and an understanding of emerging trends. “To be a successful entrepreneur, we must know exactly what the market needs, who our target audience is, and how to reach them in the most effective way. Without this understanding, it will be difficult for your business to grow,” explained Dr. David.
Dr. David also shared various important strategies in building a sustainable business. One that was emphasized was the importance of product differentiation and innovation. “As entrepreneurs, we must create something that is not only different, but also provides more value to consumers. This will make your product or service more attractive and have a competitive advantage,” he added.
In addition to business strategy, Dr. David also highlighted the important role of technology in supporting business development. He explained how young entrepreneurs can utilize various digital platforms to expand their market reach. “Technology opens up many opportunities, especially for young entrepreneurs. Social media and e-commerce allow us to reach customers around the world at a lower cost and more efficiently,” said Dr. David.
As such, the workshop provided participants with insights on how to utilize technology to support marketing strategies, market analysis, and more efficient management of business operations.
After the material session, the event continued with a question and answer session and discussion. This session provided an opportunity for participants to dig deeper into how to develop market-oriented business ideas, as well as gain first-hand understanding from Dr. David Sukardi Kodrat, M.M., CLC, CPM, CRME, Lecturer of Ciputra University Master of Management Program, who was the event's keynote speaker.
