UHW Perbanas Lecturers Encourage Teachers to Develop Interactive Learning Media with AI and H5P

Lecturers from University of Hayam Wuruk Perbanas conducted a workshop on utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and H5P for creating interactive learning media at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) Surabaya. The event was attended by 80 enthusiastic local school teachers eager to enhance their proficiency in educational technology.The Head of the Community Service Team, Dr. Dra. Ec. Rr. Iramani, M.Si, CFP, explained that the workshop aimed to enable teachers to understand and leverage AI and H5P technologies, empowering them to create more engaging and interactive learning media. The workshop is part of UHW Perbanas' regular community service program, dedicated to supporting educational development in the vicinity of the campus.
"When teachers grasp these technologies, they can be more creative in designing learning materials, exercises, and simulations that align with students' needs. We believe this is crucial for providing a more effective and enjoyable learning experience," she remarked during the workshop on Tuesday (3/12).
In the context of learning, AI tools such as ChatGPT can assist teachers in developing teaching materials, exercises, and learning simulations. Meanwhile, for creating interactive content such as quizzes, interactive videos, and educational games, teachers can use H5P, a web-based content creation platform.
Mar Dwi Asdiyanto, M.Pd.I, a teacher at MAN Surabaya, expressed his appreciation for the workshop conducted by the UHW Perbanas team. He found it highly beneficial and relevant to the needs of teachers in addressing students' learning requirements.
"The platform is suitable for audio, visual, and text-based teaching media. For instance, it is ideal for listening exercises in English or Istima’ in Arabic. H5P works well for listening tests or as a medium for learning Istima’," noted the Arabic language teacher. (pr)
