Universitas Hayam Wuruk Perbanas has been officially designated as one of the higher education institutions receiving Government Assistance for the Implementation of RPL Type A in 2024. This designation is based on a letter from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek), Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology, Number 3853/E2/DT.00.05/2024, dated May 29, 2024. According to the letter, only 60 higher education institutions across Indonesia and 17 campuses from East Java, including UHW Perbanas, have been selected.

As reported on the sierra.kemdikbud.go.id website (Academic Prior Learning Recognition E-Recommendation System), RPL is the recognition of a person's Learning Achievements (CP) obtained from formal, non-formal, informal education, and/or work experience as a basis for continuing formal education and for equivalency with certain qualifications.

This time, UHW Perbanas has been trusted to implement the RPL Type A program. This means that the RPL Type A at UHW Perbanas is applied through partial recognition of Learning Achievements to continue to formal education, which includes the recognition of learning outcomes obtained from: (1) study programs at previous higher education institutions; (2) non-formal or informal education; and/or (3) work experience after graduating from secondary education or other equivalent forms.

In the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, UHW Perbanas is accepting new students through the RPL pathway for the Bachelor of Management, Bachelor of Accounting, and Master of Management study programs. All three study programs have been accredited as Excellent or "A".

The requirements that must be met by prospective participants/new students in the RPL Type A pathway include: (1) having at least graduated from high school or an equivalent form; and (2) having non-formal, informal education, and/or work experience relevant to the study program at the intended Higher Education institution.

Meanwhile, the Head of the RPL Implementation Team at UHW Perbanas, Dr. Anggraeni, S.E., M.Si., stated that there are many benefits for prospective participants who will join the RPL program. These benefits include providing opportunities for individuals who have work experience to gain credit recognition through the RPL Assessment process. Additionally, the study period is shorter.
