A Sharia Economics undergraduate student from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Hayam Wuruk University, Perbanas, won a Research Scholarship from the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) in 2021. The girl's full name is Alissa Nur Azizah, one of 60 people who were appointed as scholarship recipients.

Based on Announcement Number 1104/ANG/BAZNAS/XI/2021 regarding the Determination of Recipients of BAZNAS Research Scholarships for General Category in 2021, there are 3 research groups that are funded. The research categories include Undergraduate Research with 36 researchers, Masters Research with 13 researchers, and Doctoral Research with 11 researches.

Confirmed after the determination, Alissa said she was happy to get a research opportunity that was funded as well. This 7th semester student submitted a research entitled Zakat Compliance to Islamic Elementary School Teachers in Surabaya from the Maqashid Syariah Perspective.

Reported from baznas.go.id, the Head of the BAZNAS Scholarship Institute, Sri Hurhidayah said the selection of BAZNAS Research Scholarships took place in two stages, namely selection from BAZNAS and also from outside BAZNAS.

"The collaboration between BAZNAS external jury assessments is carried out to maintain the neutrality of BAZNAS's integrity, that everyone is treated equally, and minimize corruption. Of course, the selected external jury also has expertise with the world of research," said Sri Nurhiddayah in the plenary meeting to determine the final results of the participants.
