The Diploma 3 Program at Hayam Wuruk Perbanas University provides assistance to Wahid Hasyim Glagah Lamongan Vocational School. Taking place on Wednesday-Thursday (8-9/9), the activity which was packaged in the form of a workshop was held in an attractive and bold manner in order to improve the quality of schools. This activity is realized through the Center for Excellence Vocational High School Program (SMK-PK) in 2021 by the Director General of Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbudristek). The Chancellor of UHW Perbanas, Dr. Yudi Sutaro, S.E.., M.Sc., explained that the program from the Ministry of Education and Culture only appoints 146 universities throughout Indonesia. In East Java, there are 19 campuses that help selected SMK-PK Programs, one of which is Hayam Wuruk Perbanas University which was originally named STIE Perbanas Surabaya. Then, priority sectors and superior competencies include: Creative Economy, Hospitality, Foreign Cooperation, Machinery and Construction, Migrant Workers, and other fields. The award also thanked him for being given the mandate to assist Wahid Hasyim Glagah Lamongan Vocational School to become a Superior Central Vocational School in the region. "This is part of our vision to provide benefits to other parties (schools). Hopefully this activity can be useful for improving the quality of schools and the quality of graduates and the achievements of the Center of Excellence Vocational School program are realized," he explained. Then, the Head of the UHW Perbanas Diploma 3 Program, Dr. Kautsar Riza Salman, S.E., M.SA., added that this activity was started with the school in order to assist in the fulfillment of 8 national education standards and the implementation of link and match with the world of work. "We also hold offline and online In House Training. As we are running now, namely providing training to school principals and teachers of SMK Wahid Hasyim Glagah," he added. Kautsar continued, the training materials were varied and adapted to the needs of the school. The material focuses on planning, managing, and developing SMK including the use of information and digital technology. These include: 2021 Program Preparation and Roadmap Revision, Technology Platform Development, Google Form and iSpring Technology Update Training, Strengthening Work Culture, Strengthening Character, Tracing Graduates, and exploring cooperation in the World of Work in the Industrial World (DUDI). "All the materials were given by resource persons from Hayam Wuruk Perbana University. The speakers also collaborated with DUDIKA PT. Bina Menara Internusa (BMI) and school supervisors," he explained. Meanwhile, the Principal of SMK Wahid Hasyim Glagah Lamongan, H. Abdul Matin, S.Pd.I., welcomed the SMK PK program being implemented in his school. The target of Wahid Hasyim Glagah Vocational School later is to make a reference vocational school that can function as a center of excellence, quality improvement, and a reference for other vocational schools. "I hope that the workshop that will be held will become a vehicle for positive interaction from both the academic community and resource persons so that we can establish a close relationship in all respects," said Abdul Matin.
