The Library of STIE Perbanas Surabaya Distributes Interesting Books to Reduce Students Boredom
The library of STIE Perbanas Surabaya takes care of students in the city of Surabaya. This time, the target is elementary to junior high school students who are affected learning from home. A total of 450 books were distributed free of charge to students in the Nginden Jangkungan Village, Surabaya on Saturday, July 25, 2020.
The Head of the STIE Perbanas Surabaya Library, Munawaroh, S.S., M.Sc., said that the activity was a form of Community Service in his library. "Online learning since March 2020 has made children bored. So we contribute by providing story books and coloring books, "he explained.
By cooperating with the Postgraduate Student Association (HIMAPAS), the Alumni Association of STIE Perbanas Surabaya (IKAPNAS), and Perbanas BI Corner Comunity, his party delivered books to students door to door with details, 200 story books and 200 coloring books. In fact, the local Master of Management Study Program also distributed 50 books.
In addition, said Munawaroh, a number of masks and snacks were delivered to students so that they would be happier and care about health. They were given education related to health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic, starting from the culture of using masks, face shields, washing hands, to Physical Distancing.
"The goal is that students and the general public understand how to apply health protocols. Then, so that the students' interest in reading books increases, and they can use gadgets wisely, ”he added.
Then, one of the students who lived in RT 7 RW 4 Kelurahan Nginden Jangkungan, Dea Putri said she was happy to receive the story books and coloring books. "Yes, I am happy. Later for studying and playing at home, ”said Dea. (eko/hms)
